The Holiday Revival Show began at the House of Blues in 2004 as a way to provide a “boost” to an audience winding down from a busy holiday season. It ran for an impressive nine years there, before eventually moving to The Music Box in 2015, where the show promptly sold out. With another busy year almost in the books for Carlos Jones – featuring performances at Hessler Street Fair, The Twinsburgh Amphitheatre Reggae Fest, Wade Oval, Painesville Party in the Park, and Edgewater Live – he is back in the studio working on a new batch of material for release in 2018. With new drummer Myron Gardner now on board, the band’s energy level is at an all time high and the band has been performing most of the new material throughout the year.
Opening the show this year is Big Ship, featuring jam-rock veterans “Dreadlock” Dave McDougal and Michael Rotman. The group has a funky, acoustic-styled groove performing a variety of recognizable covers along with their originals in a unique, jamband style, featuring Rotman’s deep baritone voice and McDougal’s “lead” bass lines.
