Cleveland, Ohio – Little Fish Records announced today that Carlos Jones & The P.L.U.S. Band (aka The Peace, Love, Unity Syndicate) will be doing a special performance at the Beachland Ballroom on Sunday, February 22nd, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Carlos Jones & the PLUS Band had been commemorating Bob Marley’s birthday in February for over 25 years, first starting the event at the Parkview Tavern in Cleveland. This smaller venue on Cleveland’s near west side became legendary for its vibrant atmosphere, with people lining up outside for up to an hour just to experience the incredible vibe of “The Reggae Brunch.” However, the 25th anniversary celebration was put on hold when Covid-19 hit,, and eventually plans were scrapped due to health and safety reasons. The event was eventually moved to the Beachland Ballroom last year to accommodate the large crowd, and a new tradition has been born.
The festivities will commence with DJ Mark Mrazek spinning some tunes to set the tone for the evening. Following this, there will be a special performance by “Sun Shade & the Tropical Vybes Band. Sun Shade is a young Jamaican artist based out of Cleveland, who is signed to Tuff Gong Records, and has been on the rise both nationally and internationally with a steady stream of releases, turning heads with his vibrant voice and energetic stage show. Finally, Carlos Jones and the PLUS Band will cap off this afternoon extravaganza with a mesmerizing set of roots-rock-reggae, featuring a blend of Marley tunes along with Jones’ original music that can be found on the four studio releases that have been recorded over the years on Little Fish Records (www.littlefishrecords.com).
Local vendors will be present, selling Jamaican themed merchandise, and Jamaican food will be provided by Hooper Farms, ensuring that the culinary experience is as exceptional as the musical performances.
